Here are some of my favorite chemistry related websites. Check them out as any one of them will aid in your understanding of the material covered in Chemistry 7.

Silberberg’s Chemistry Student Resource Site by McGraw-Hill. A great free learning resource for students using the 4th Editiion of Silberberg’s General Chemistry textbook.

Silberberg Chemistry Textbook On-line Quiz Site by McGraw-Hill. Another great quiz site to help you understand what you do and do not understand.

Brown and Lemay Texbook Resource Site by Prentice-Hall. Site for another classic general chemistry textbook. Takes the on-line quizzes and see how you do.

McMurry and Fay Texbook Resource Site by Prentice-Hall. Resource site for another classic general chemistry textbook. Takes the on-line multiple-choice quizzes and see how you do.

Petrucci and Harwood Texbook Resource Site by Prentice-Hall. Resource site for another classic general chemistry textbook. Takes the on-line multiple-choice quizzes and see how you do.

Dr. Mark Ott’s General Chemistry ScreenCasts Cutting edge “screencasts” of General Chemistry lectures given by Dr. Ott. Mark brings the lecture room and problem solving demonstrations right to the comfort of your home computer. Super, super stuff here. If your having a problem with a concept take a look at Dr. Ott’s screen casts. Very well done.

A General Chemistry Virtual Textbook Superbly written sections by Dr. Steven Lower of Simon Frazer University that IMHO makes the mainstream chemistry texts offered by the major US publishers seem weak in content, much of the same, and extremely overpriced.

General Chemistry Online Dr. Fred Senese’s website is perhaps the best online learning site for chemsitry on the internet (Dr. Senese is co-author of the Brady’s classic chemistry textbook Chemistry, Matter and It’s Changes).

Ohio State Online Quiz Bank and Tutorials for General Chemistry Ace these quizzes and you can assure yourself that Chemistry 7 will be a breeze.

Jim Clark’s Chemistry Guide This site is intended to meet the needs of UK A level chemistry students. There is a lot of great information that typically is not taught in general chemistry. I like the UK chemistry syllabus.

Liina Ladon’s Chemistry tutor web pages from Towson University. Great problem solving resource.

Purdue University’s Visualization and Problem Solving for General Chemistry

Chemtutor Chemtutor combines fundamentals, tutorials and expert help with nearly all topics covered in the first course in chemistry.

MIT’s Open CourseWare Video lectures of various Chemsitry classes at MIT.

UC Berkeley Video lectures of general chemistry at UC Berkeley.

Yale University’s video pre-labs A few video chem laboratory demonstrations.

University of Wisconsin-Madison Chemistry Department Demonstration Lab

Oxford University’s Chemistry Webcasts.

Historical Chemistry Site by Professor Carmen Giunta from Leymone College, Syracuse NY.
